Álfheiður Marta is a director from Reykjavík, Iceland. She worked her way through the ranks as a producer, while also lending her talent as an assistant director on acclaimed TV series such as "The Minister," "Fractures," "Afturelding," and "Black Sands."
She has since directed campaigns for clients like Icelandair, TM Insurance, Landsvirkjun Energy and The Bank of Iceland. Her visual storytelling and emotional approach have resulted in work on PSA campaigns for causes such as the Pink Ribbon and Stígamót, earning her nominations at Lúðurinn, the Icelandic Advertising Awards.
Beyond commercial, Marta has directed and produced non-scripted tv series like "Vinátta" in 2021 and "Mannflóran" in 2023. Her documentary "Lesblinda" was nominated for the Edda Award in 2022.
Álfheiður Marta recently directed two episodes of the scandi-noir TV series “Black Sands II” produced by Glassriver, released in fall 2024.
